This tune is a fairly recent one. I’m still working it out, so I thought I would present it in it’s current state of development, then again in a couple of weeks after working on it more.
Basically, this is a modal tune, there’s no real functional harmony. That means the chords and associated scale[s] have no functional relationship to each other. The only exception is toward the end. The A minor/F major, and the Gminor/Eb major can share the same scale.
The idea is to increasingly use chromaticism to play over these very basic changes. One way I’m doing that is by creating some specific scales to use over these chords. The other approach is to freely weave in and out of the [relative] key centers. This is very common in current jazz. The trick is to develop your own voice. I’m trying to do that by, first, not applying too many rules and following my instincts. And on the other hand, by developing my own understanding of how to interpret these harmonies in a more chromatic way.

As I said, this is a very basic interpretation of this tune. I’ll check back in a week or so and share my progress and discuss it more.
