Still Here!
I'm still here folks...
It has been crazy busy here. I will be back soon with some great posts. I just received almost six hours of video from my quartet’s recent gig at the Good Times Jazz Bar in Savannah, GA. I will be sharing some of that here as I work through it. I also have some other things in the works to share with you.
My quartet will be playing here in Greenville, SC’s new Jazz Fest in June. I hope to get video of that to share, as well. We’ll be returning to Savannah, GA in August to perform at Good Times again. We’re also playing at a new Arts Festival in Simpsonville, SC in a few weeks.
I’m playing every week, Wednesday through Friday at the Westin Poinsett Hotel here in Greenville. Come see me if you’re close by.
I recently acquired a Nord Electro keyboard. This is a top of the line keyboard with tons of onboard stuff. It is taking some time to learn to use it because of all the stuff it can do. I will be sharing some of that as I get more familiar with it. This is really going to help with online teaching and recording teaching vids. Plus, it’s a huge upgrade for me as far as performing and hopefully with some recording projects.
I have some new compositions to share, as well.
I’ve started advertising my podcast in the New York City Jazz Record. This is a great Jazz magazine based in NYC. I hope to grow my audience for the podcast and for this Substack.
I’m also advertising my teaching in a new newspaper that I like, called County Highway. This is a little off the “beaten path”, but I like this paper and recommend it. It’s produced by writer Walter Kirn. Check it out.
