Blame My Friends
..for helping me learn Studio One
Studio One is the audio software that I’m learning. I’m so psyched about it. If you get sick of me sharing tunes and attempts at tunes here, please blame my two friends that turned me on to this and have been helping me learn it, Jim & Dave. They also sell ice cream….But seriously, I’ll never make fun of trombone players again, guys, at least not until the next opportunity.
What I haven’t learned yet is editing…lucky you, you get to hear all the mistakes! But only until I get the editing down. For now, please feel free to blame the above mentioned trombonists for taking their own sweet time dragging me along step by step….
I’ve always recorded gigs, all the way back to cassette tapes, which I have a tub full of. Now, I take my Zoom recorder to any gigs of note, or notes. But to be able to sit down and get this quality of recording, and then to listen back immediately, that is a great way to practice and to create.
It also helps to have some trombone playing, ice cream hawking friends, who know more than you do, to get you started and patiently answer your questions.
Here’s something for today, something unedited, so be brave. This tune is called, “The Woman On the Bridge.”
